Obituary

FRANK MCGRAW, SR., was born on September 22, 1951, to the late Calvin McGraw, Sr., and Annie M. Walker McGraw in Franklin Parish, Gilbert, Louisiana. He went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2026.

He gave his life early as a child at Old Macedonia B.C., under Pastor C. Wesley in Gilbert, LA, and at Oakley B.C. in Wisner, LA.

He loved working in gardens and cutting grass. As his health declined, he had to do it a different way: by using a scooter or riding mower, known as “Southside Maintenance Handyman” until he couldn’t do it anymore. He loved watching wrestling, from Roman Reigns, Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, and many more; also boxing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Annie McGraw; four brothers, Dave Walker, Calvin McGraw, Jr., Joseph McGraw, and Charlie McGraw; and two sisters, Odean McGraw and Henrietta McGraw Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, two sons, Frank(Shanta) McGraw, Jr., and Steve (Latrice) McGraw of Monroe, LA; two daughters, Aretha (Vernon) Washington of Monroe, LA and Dewanna F. James of Winnsboro, LA; one brother, Griffen McGraw of New Orleans, LA; three sisters: Annie Thomas of Monroe, LA, Nellie McGraw of New Orleans, LA, and Adline Lloyd of Winnsboro, LA; eighteengrandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
