Ethel Johnson

Ethel Johnson was born to the late Harry Harris, Sr., and Roberta Harris in Gilbert, Louisiana. She was married to the late Samuel Johnson.
She was baptized at an early age, under the leadership of Reverend John Tellis at the Old Macedonia Baptist Church in Gilbert, Louisiana.

Ethel departed this life Sunday, May 16, 2021. She worked in the school system a number of years and then she worked at St. Joseph Home as a Health Care worker.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Harry, Sr., and Roberta Harris, and her siblings, Mary Chester, Louise Harris Harris, Betty Willrich, Evangelist Juanita Heckard, Eddie Goodrum, Rev. Harry Harris, Jr., and Rev. Charles Harris, Sr.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memories: three children, LeRoy Charles Cameron, Jr. (Diane), Patricia Spillman, and Ethel Cameron; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Goodrum, Willie Harris (Earline), Freddie Goodrum (Shawanna), James Harris (Sandra), Floyd Harris (Janice), John McCarthy (Bertha), and Lonnie Whitley; sisters, Rose Jackson (Wayne), Willie Mae Millsap (Prentice), and Bobby Gills (James); sisters-in-law, Jessie Mae Harris and Marilyn Goodrum; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Your life is a blessing and your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. We will miss you telling us to go get me ‘dem cakes.
