Ellis Wendell Campbell was born February 23, 1958, to the late Nelson and Clara Campbell. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Isador, Nelson, Jr., and Kelly, and three sisters, Margaret, Mary, and Cynthia.
Ellis accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at New Salem Baptist Church under the leadership of PJ Jasper and the late Reverend Melvin Franklin. He later joined Powerhouse Church in West Monroe. He served as an usher at both congregations.
He was employed by LSU Ochsner Medical Center in Monroe for over thirty-five years until he retired. He enjoyed serving as chaplain at LSU for several years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Barry, Ellis, Jr., and Dre; two bonus children, Alicia and Terriann; special friend for over twenty years, Lisa Reed; nine grandchildren, Ellis III, Mari, Aaliyah, Kaitlyn, Aria, India, Eukira, and Barry II; and siblings, Barbara, Gilbert, Rea, Erma, Larry, Jimmy, Pat, Janice, Jerry, Theosha, and Hector Lopez.
He was a Mason with King Harem 244 for several years.
