Elisha "Chick" Brass Obituary

Elisha “Chick” Brass was born January 26, 1943, to the late Reverend Lacey Benjamin Brass, Sr., and the late Mary Lena Brass in Winnsboro, LA. He was the fourth child and second twin of seven.

Elisha “Chick” Brass departed this life on March 20, 2021, at his home in Winnsboro, LA.

Elisha Brass was fondly called “Chick.” He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, and later joined Winnsboro Second Baptist, which were both under the leadership of Pastor Van H. Brass, Sr. 

Elisha “Chick” Brass was a product of Franklin Parish School System. He was in the Boys Scout of America under the leadership of Van M. Brass. He attended Grambling State University in Grambling, LA. In June 19, 1970, he enlisted in the United States Army. He belonged to the American Legion.

Elisha “Chick” Brass loved to fish and enjoyed life and was well known and loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his: three sisters, Jessie, Dorris, and Bessie “Betty” Brass; three brothers, Van Major, LB Jr., and twin, Elijah; and godbrother, Curtis Berry.

He leaves to cherish memories of love and devotion to his: wife, Ebony Danielle Brass; daughter, Felica Smith (Malcom) of Vicksburg, MS; three sons, Fredrick Coleman of Mexico, Kevin Brass, and Gerald Wilson of Monroe, LA; extended family, four daughters, Journee Brass, Makeesia Robinson of Winnsboro, LA, Joslyn Robinson of Monroe, LA, and Dabria Robinson of Marion, LA; two sons, Jo’Darius Robinson and Sendowski Robinson of Monroe, LA; goddaughter, Na’Riyah Richardson of Winnsboro, LA; two grandsons whom he raised as his own, Jaylon White of the United States Air Force, Minot, North Dakota and Sa’Derrick White of Columbus, MS; Amanda Leonard (Sterry), whom he raised as his daughter of Winnsboro, LA; father- and mother-in- law, Marvin and Rita Cameron of Monroe, LA; five sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
