Elaine Mitchell was born June 26, 1958 to parents Thomas Eddie Wheeler and Inez Harris. She was the third of the five siblings.
Elaine joined church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend G.C. Coggs at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where her family led by her mother Inez Harris served for many years as an usher. So being a young child, she served God where her mother lead her. She really believed in God and as she grew older, she realized many lessons about God her mother taught her.
Her four sons were the loves of her life.
Elaine worked many jobs in Vicksburg, Mississippi and Tallulah, Louisiana; slot attendant, cook, delivered meals to the elderly, and homemaker for Madison Voluntary Council on Aging.
She was receded in death by her father, Thomas Eddie Wheeler; mother, Inez Harris; brothers, Eddie Wheeler and Thomas Harris; and sister, Hazel Harris.
Elaine leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Lorenzo Wheeler of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terry Wheeler (Appolonia), Deon McCray, and Ricky McCray of Tallulah, Louisiana; sister, Katherine Williams of New Orleans, Louisiana; brother, Sterling Wheeler (Robin) of Desoto, Texas; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, special family friend Calvin Washington, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
