On May 11, 1958, Elaine Johnson was born to the union of Leavern Johnson, Sr., and Mattie Jean Johnson. She was the third of seven children. Elaine was educated in Caddo Parish schools and dedicated her life to caring for others through her work in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.
Elaine began her career as a CNA at Magnolia Nursing Home and later worked at Schumpert Medical Center and the Guest House Nursing Home of Bossier. With over 25 years of caregiving, she touched many lives with her compassion and kindness.
Elaine was the devoted mother of three children: Dennis Johnson, Nitasha Johnson, and LaTerrance Johnson. She was known for her vibrant spirit—she loved to dance, cook, clean, and spend time with her family. Elaine had a giving heart, always willing to help others, even if it meant giving her last. She was full of life, love, and laughter, and on October 6, 2025, she was called home, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories.
Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Nitasha Johnson; parents, Leavern and Mattie Johnson; brothers, Willie Johnson and Leavern Johnson, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Edward C. Smith and Sip “Pete” Parish; and nephews, Rickey Smith and Anthony Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Dennis Johnson and LaTerrance Johnson; grandchildren, Kyran Johnson, Auguste Johnson, and Armoni Johnson; sisters, Barbara Parish, Gloria Jean Smith, and Carolyn Coleman (David); brother, Kenneth Ray Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
