Edward James Honeycutt was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on August 4, 1953, to the late Katie Honeycutt Cox and James Williams, Sr. He accepted Christ at an early age at Wood Chapel Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana. He later became a member of New Salem Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Edward James Honeycutt retired from Ryans Chevrolet, where he worked for over twenty-five years. On August 18, 1984, he married the love of his life, Patricia Jones Honeycutt, of thirty-nine years. Edward loved spending time with family.
Edward James Honeycutt departed this life on December 13, 2023, in his home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katie Honeycutt Cox; father, James Williams, Sr.; sister, Brenda Johnson; brothers; Bruce Johnson and Bobby Johnson; and grandparents, Katherine Woods Honeycutt, Augusta Honeycutt, Armer Williams, and Frank Williams.
He leaves to cherish: his wife, Patricia Jones Honeycutt; four boys, James Honeycutt, Steven Honeycutt, Patrick Newsome, and Jason Newsome; three sisters, Carolyn Honeycutt, Sandra Jackson (Ervin), and Katherine Newton; four brothers, Anthony Johnson (LaQuita), Frankie Johnson, Albert Johnson, and James Williams, Jr. (Katie); six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
