On August 22, 1937, Earnest and Julia Jackson welcomed their baby girl, Edna Jane, into this world.
Edna accepted Christ at a very young age. She graduated from Thomastown High School in 1957, where she played basketball. She later met Cary Anderson and birthed four children, then later in life, she met Lemmon Farris and conceived two more children. She went on to Nursing School and married her late husband, Victor Thompson.
She worked many years in the Health Facilities, such as Madison Parish Hospital and Delta Haven Nursing Home, and she was a caretaker in patient’s homes in Tallulah. Edna was an angel to many people that needed help; her door was always open to anyone in need. Edna had so many friends and family whom she loved dearly. She always helped others in any ways she could, until her transition. Edna departed life on April 2, 2024, in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; parents, Earnest and Julia; sons, Patrick, Reginald, and Leotis; grandchildren, Freddie, Ledarrian, and Reginald; sisters, Carrie and Ruby; one great-grandchild, Mason; and eight brothers, Saul, Ben, Willie, Alvin, Lonnie, Jessie, Ernest, and a baby deceased at birth.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters and one step daughter, Cassandra Jackson of Tallulah, LA, Mary Farris (Robert) of Las Vegas, NV, Cynthia Jackson (Maurice) of Las Vegas, NV, and Sonja Kinsey of Monroe, LA; thirty-four grandkids; sixty-five great-grandkids; eleven great-great-grandkids; two goddaughters, Andrea Graham and Victoria Dailey, both of TX; three sisters, Mildred Starley and Julia Jackson, both of Los Angele, CA, and Georgia Jackson of Austin, TX; one brother, Arthur Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends, whom she loved dearly.
