Born on March 14, 1946, in Rayville, Louisiana, Eddie Gives, Jr., was the cherished son of Eddie Sr. And Nancy Gives. Raised in a loving and close-knit family, Eddie grew up with a deep sense of faith, love, and responsibility that he carried throughout his life.
Eddie was a devoted husband, married for 55 years to his loving wife, Diane. Together, they built a life full of memories, and their love for each other stood as a testament to the commitment and bond they shared. As a father, Eddie was the steady hand and guiding force for his children, instilling in them the values of hard work, respect, and love. He was also a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, offering support and kindness to everyone who knew him.
For forty years, Eddie worked as a CDL driver, a profession in which he took great pride. His dedication to his craft earned him the respect of his peers and colleagues. Eddie’s hardworking nature, along with his generosity and sense of humor, made him a beloved figure among friends, family, and all who encountered him on the road.
Beyond his professional life, Eddie was a deeply spiritual man. He served faithfully as a deacon at New Bethel Baptist Church in Dehico, Louisiana, where his commitment to the church and the community was unwavering. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was an example of service and humility to all who knew him.
On March 30, 2025, Eddie passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
