Sister Dorothy Hollins Chatman was born on September 29, 1950 in Ouachita Parish to the late Jake Hollins, Sr. and the late Alma Hall. She departed this life on June 3, 2019 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Walter Watson. She recently was baptized at New Hope Pentecostal Temple under the leadership of Reverend Keith Williams.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alma Hall and Jake Hollins; her husband, Henry Chatman; her brothers, Jake Jr., Herbert, and Edward Hollins; one sister, Alma Marie Hollins; one niece, Patricia Hollins; and one great niece.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her three children, Yolanda Hollins, SheVonna (Johnny) Williams, and RoMekia Hollins; six brothers, Louis Jacobs and Joe (Yvonne) Jacobs of Gainesville, Florida; Charles (Rose Mary) Hollins of Dallas, Texas; Paul Hollins, Melvin Hollins, and Henry Best; four sisters, Cherry Brown of Dallas, Texas; Willie Mae Hollins and Pauline Hollins of Monroe, Louisiana; and Letha Jackson of Richwood, Louisiana; two aunts, Marie Louis of Seattle, Washington and Sarah Ann Hall of Monroe, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
