Doris O'Dell Puckett Criss

Doris Odell Puckett Criss was born on September 10, 1940, to the late R.V. Puckett and Mary Lewis Puckett in Delhi, Louisiana.

She departed this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Delhi, Louisiana.

Doris accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Saint John Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Daniel Lee McCall, Sr. She was a member of the choir and was a featured soloist. She sang throughout the community at various churches and community functions. She remained a member of Saint John Baptist Church until her death.

She married Robert Criss in 1958. To this union, five children were born. Four preceded her in death: one still-born, Janice Criss, and two sons, Darryl P. Criss and Robert Criss, Jr. Doris’s days were joyfully filled with ironing and cleaning, gardening, attending to her chickens and cats, and loving on her children.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Connie Criss Montgomery and Sharon Criss; one son, Darron Leon Puckett (Erin); two brothers, Rev. Luther Allen Puckett of Detroit, MI and Johnny Puckett of Delhi, LA; 21 grandchildren, Latorrence, Willie Mae, Shantoria, Santeka, Darrylen, Shaquila, Robert, Latasha, Lanequia, Niketra, Ladarryl, Tierrica, Yunecia, Rufus II, Deneitra, Takeyia, Shameyia, Darron Jr., Matthew, Tyreonna, and Kyreonna; 24 great-grandchildren; 84 great-great grandchildren; 6 great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, and friends.
