Doris Lafaye Burgess passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Glenwood Medical Center, West Monroe, LA, after a lengthy illness. She was born January 16, 1953, to the late Otis James Burgess, Sr., and Florence Burgess. She was a graduate of Delhi High School. Faye truly lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures of spending time with her childrens and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis James Burgess, Sr., and Florence Burgess; two brothers, Otis James Burgess, Jr., (Verda) and Keith George (Shirley); one brother-in-law, Bennie Powell; and nephew, Melvin Ray Burgess, Jr.
Doris is survived by her three children, Marcus Burgess (Nicole), Nicholas Burgess, Sr. (Tammy), and Raven Burgess; two brothers, Melvin Ray Burgess (Susan) and Anthony George; four sisters, Berdia Brown (Walter), Ora Powell, Stephanie Levine (Terrance), and Sallie Turner (John); four grandchildren, Ladarias McCoy, Nicholas Burgess, Jr., Nicko Burgess, and Ambernique Wise; three great-grands, Gabrielle McCoy, Aubri Rose McCoy, and Christian Wise; and a host of other relatives, nieces, and nephews including, Ivory Kelly, Kenya N. Kelly, and Elaysia O. Kelly.
