Dora Lee Tatum was born on September 15, 1954 in Columbia, Louisiana to the late Rosa Lee Neal and Henry James Tatum. Dora peacefully passed away on December 27, 2020 due to health issues. She went through the last days of her life surrounded and supported by family, friends, and caregivers.
Dora was a member of Saint Peters Baptist Church and Morning Star Baptist Church. She attended Union Central High School. After high school, she started a career as a certified nursing assistant where she worked at Caldwell Memorial and the Haven Home Health. Shortly after that she started a cooking career. She cooked at Francis Family and Mad Jacks Kitchen. Her pride and joy in life was family, which was anyone she met.
Dora is preceded in death by her daughter, Joslyn; her mother, Rosa Lee Neal; and her father, Henry James Tatum.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Ann Tatum, Henry Tatum, Brenda Tatum, Tyronda Thompson, and Anthony Green; her siblings, Willis Tatum, Mary Neal, Eddie Wooten, Curtis Miller, and Virginia Wooten; her 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her partner in life, Ronald Jones; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
