Dewayne Bernard Barfield, aged 66, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas. He was born on November 13, 1958, to the late Lee Anna Barfield and Robert Bell, Jr.
Dewayne graduated from Carroll High School in 1976 where he was a member of the marching band. After graduating, he attended Grambling State University where he continued playing in the band by being a member of the world-famed Grambling State University Marching Band; he performed in Japan during his freshman and sophomore year. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1981. He was employed with NASA and retired from FedEx.
Dewayne always stated that he was not just a Dallas Cowboys fan... He was a fanatic for dem boys!!
He was preceded in death by parents, Lee Anna Barfield and Robert Bell, Jr.
Dewayne leaves to cherish: his daughters, Deneshalon Taylor of Houston, Texas, and Yashavion Rodgers of Monroe, Louisiana; two brothers, Kenneth Mercy of Houston, Texas, Troy Bell, Sr., (Tarya) of Monroe, Louisiana, and Shantell Bell of Monroe, Louisiana; and five bonus children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
