Desmond D'Roy Foster was born December 24, 1971, to Albert Roy Foster and Cynthia Louise Brown at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. He was the eldest out of his seven siblings and the first grandchild born on each side of the family. In his early years, his paternal grandmother, Millie Foster, helped raise him and introduced him to the church where he grew up and became a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. He later became a member of Free Gift Baptist Church of Monroe, LA.
Desmond graduated from Huntington High School, Class of 1989, in Shreveport, LA, and also attended University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, LA, where he studied Computer Science. Desmond began his career in Cable Services in 1997 as a Cable Installer and continued in that field for the next 25 years where he received many recognitions and awards and eventually became a project installation manager for commercial properties.
Desmond married Yolanda Monique Gospel on September 16, 1995. They were the proud parents of a son and daughter, Devin Xavier Foster and Raven Celeste Foster. Desmond's hobbies included buying electronics and any computer gadgets, along with collecting Jordan’s and Nike’s sneakers (over 100 pairs). An avid gun and rifle collector, he also enjoyed going to the gun range, playing and watching basketball, and riding his motorcycle that he loved dearly. He was also a member of a motorcycle club, Southern Roadrunners in Ruston, LA, where he made many long distance trips with his fellow members.
Desmond was admired and loved by many because of his laid back and kind demeanor, intelligence, wittiness, and quick, savvy comebacks in all conversations.
