Deloris Jean Hennix-Johnson

Deloris Jean Hennix-Johnson was born on November 25, 1955 to Josephine Griffin Hennix-Wise and Rufus Hennix in Rayville, Louisiana. She entered the arms of the Lord on January 1, 2021.

Deloris confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Westside Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend A.W. Watkins. Later in life, she joined the New Saint James Baptist Church and remained a member there under the leadership of Reverend Vance A. Price.

She attend Eula D. Britton High School in Rayville, Louisiana. She attended Southern University and Delta Community College.

Deloris joined Robert Lee Johnson in Holy Matrimony and to this union one child was born, Jovan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Hennix-Wise and Rufus Hennix; her husband, Robert Lee Johnson; and her brother, Alfred Charles Hennix.

Deloris leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Jovan Johnson; two grandchildren, Jewells and Malaysia; siblings, Patricia Wise, Martha Ellis (Timothy), Michael Young, Anthony Young, Ronald Young, and Beatrice Williams; one sister-in-law, Bettye Hennix; two aunts, Johnny May King and Mary Lee Fontenot; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
