Deacon Billy Ray Miller was born on May 18, 1948, in Strong, Arkansas.
He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Springhill Baptist Church
of Oakland, Louisiana.
He attended Gardner High School.
After relocating to Bastrop, Louisiana, he joined Saint John Baptist Church, under the
leadership of Reverend Steve Conley. Later in life, Deacon Miller became a member of
Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Rodney McFarland, I. He
loved his pastor and church family dearly and was faithful until the end.
Billy Ray retired from GP in Crossett, Arkansas, after 40 years of service.
He would often visit his home church in Oakland to visit with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammie Lee and Mollie Mae Miller, and his siblings,
Tressie L. Ward, Emma J. Lloyd, Murphy Jiles, and Lovie Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Betty Miller of Crossett, Arkansas, Billy
Ray Ray Miller, Jr., of Dayton, Ohio, and Michelle Miller of Killeen, Texas; his siblings,
Mablean Green and Alice Shephard (Cedric), both of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Sheire Miller of Monroe, Louisiana; a host of other relatives and friends; and the Greater Free
Gift Baptist Church Family.
