Demaŕte Rayford was born on October 10, 1996, in Portland, Oregon, to his mother, Tasha Rayford, and father, Charles D. Jenkins. Demaŕte graduated from Wossman High School in Monroe, Louisiana.
Marte really loved his family, no matter what. Marte was so loving, caring, hardworking, and very humble. Marte always made people laugh while always trying to be encouraging to others, no matter what life threw at him.
Basketball, football, and video games were his life. He enjoyed doing these with family or just doing it on his own. Marte loved spending time with family, including his daughter, Demari, who was his whole life. The love he had for his daughter was amazing. Ashanté was the love of his life which made him want to plant another life with her. He just wanted to be happy with his family as one.
Demaŕte was so stubborn that his auntie, Tonya Rayford, named him Squidward.
Preceding him in death were his great-grandmother, Alice Coleman Rayford; great-uncles, Kent Peoples Ardis Rayford and Link Peoples; and aunt, Toya Jenkins; among others. Demaŕte leaves his precious memories and cherishing moments with: siblings, Tavaria McFarland, Devario McFarland, Takasha McFarland, and Devin McFarland; grandmother, Mary Rayford; aunties, Tonya Rayford, Shontia Dean, and Lakecia Dean; uncles, Deitrus Rayford, Deshon Rayford, and Antron Dean; great-aunts, Bertha Harbor and Rita Curry, and Sharon Ward; great-uncle, Oscar Johnson; a host of cousins, friends; two nephews; six nieces; special friend, Ashanté Harris; and special family, Brandon Peoples, Markell Peoples, Quinton Peoples, and Naiaisha Peoples.
