The Life of a King at a Glance
Danny (Big Dawg) was a blessing to so many lives during his time on earth, and his loving spirit will be remembered long after his passing.
Danny Ray Moore was born on November 11, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana to Maggie Moore and Jessie Thomas. He accepted Christ at an early age.
Danny Moore passed away at his home on July 24, 2024, at 8:25 AM surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Moore, father, Jessie Thomas, and brother, Washington McClain.
Danny attended Boley Elementary and Richardson High School in West Monroe class of 1968.
Danny was a truck driver for Sol Pipe and Steel for 40 years. All his coworkers and friends called him “Big Dawg”. He enjoyed spending quality time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed meeting buddies during happy hour for an occasional drink to talk about sports and trucker talk.
Danny leaves his loving memories with his wife of 55 years, Joanna Davis Moore; one son, Peter Davis (Jean) of Dallas, TX; four daughters, Elizabeth Walker, Angela Davis, Angele Davis, and Karen Davis, all of Monroe, LA; brothers, Paul Davis (Debbie) of Daly City, CA, Steve Davis (Diane) of Carlsbad, NM, George Davis (Sharon) of West Monroe, LA, and Issac Davis (Annie) of Fort Wayne, IN: ten sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Big Dawg”...Danny Moore...I am truly going to miss you. NOBODY had to guess where you stood or what you stood for (like it or not). Every Trucker has to pull into a REST STOP. It was your TIME TO REST. Release the wheel my brother.
God got you. REST IN GLORY!
