CURTIS RAY HUNTER, SR., was born on January 13, 1959, to the late Lucias Hunter and Vivian Powell Elzy. Curtis was preceded in death by his first grandson, Fredrick Rashaud Taylor.

At an early age, Curtis confessed Christ and became a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church of Crowville under the leadership of the Late Reverend H. B. Rancher. He was baptized and later became a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir until his health declined.

Curtis loved doing carpentry work in all surrounding areas—Delhi, Crowville, Winnsboro, Rayville, or wherever, he was needed until he suffered a stroke in 2014 and was unable to walk.

Curtis also loved spending time with his wife, children, and especially his grandkids.
