7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Brother Curtis Jones was born October 30, 1940, to the late Elnathan and Omelia Jones.
He accepted Christ at an early age at the Pleasant Green Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his death.
Brother Curtis Jones was one of the sweetest, kindest, and loving parents you would ever meet. He knew how to comfort you with few words and put a smile on your face. No matter what challenges he faced, he believed in the power of God’s word to be strong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elnathan and Omelia Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories: seven children, Curtis Ray (Trudy) Jones of Crowville, Louisiana; Patricia (Mike) Harris of Houston, Texas; Barbara (Kevin) Drayton, Jerlyn (Frank) Bobo, Michael (Dalphynie) Jones, and Marcus (LaQuista) Jones, all of Monroe, Louisiana, and Laura (Terry) Ivy of Bossier City, Louisiana; one brother, Jimmie Lee Jones of Los Angeles, California; four sisters, Shirley Gipson of Arcadia, Louisiana; Louella Jordon, Margaret Harris, and Helen Manning of Dallas, Texas; special friend and cousin, Bernard Myles; and special friend, Leola Stubblefield. He also leaves to cherish his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loved ones.
