Charles Allen Offord,Sr., affectionately known as “Usher,” was born to Thomas and Eloise Offord on June 29, 1949, in Sondheimer, Louisiana.
Charles attended McCall High School and was eventually drafted into the military. He served and fought in the Vietnam War while in the Army, before dutifully gaining an honorable discharge for service.
Charles enjoyed life and lived to fullest. He departed this life in the early morning hours of November 19, 2024, at his home in Tallulah, Louisiana.
Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas and Eloise Offord; sisters, Shirley Jean Nelson, Helen Marie Davis, and Caria Mae Neller; and brothers, Alonzo Offord and Leo Watkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his baby sister, Faye Ennis Livingston; sons, Charles Offord, Jr. (Taia), James E. Offord, and Thomas Offord (Ngena); daughters, Wanda Jean Warren (Shaun), LaShameka Offord, and Kiara Washington Anderson (Hunter); grandchildren, Dyneise, Dyshae, Rosalyn, Kendal, Kaleb, Jaiya, Jurnee, Madisyn, Charlye Rose, Nehemiah, Zoylah, Lil Thomas, and Myles Joey; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Tru, Norei, and Xavier; two special nieces who where there whenever he asked, Deloris King Oby and SheWanda Offord Blackman; diligent nephew, Rocky Darnell Henderson who was patient and available when needed; his friend until death, Jimmy Stamps; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
