Carolyn Ann Owens

In loving memory of our mother Carolyn Ann Owens (Stella), 72, who entered into God’s Eternal Kingdom on September 3, 2022, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Stella was born on November 30, 1949, to the union of James Butler Purtue and Malinda Clark Purtue. She received her education at Good Pine High School and Rod Brady Technical College in Jena, LA. She was a devoted CNA at Golden Age Nursing Center for a number of years.

A loving mother of five, left to cherish her memories are her children, Malinda Brown (Darrel), Manita Owens, Fredrick Wallace (Natalie), Monica Owens (Antuan), and Brook Owens (Russell); grandmother of eighteen, Tiara, Tyra, Tiondria, Tamia, Zachary, Xavier, Darius, Destiny, Tralyn, London, Trenton, Taliyah, Antuan Jr., Alivia, Kayla, Niveah, Trinity, and Sebastion; and great-grandmother of six, Tyran, Audrey, Rylan, Jaiden, Jordan, and Ja’ziyah; also left to endure her loss are her nephews, Roy Harris and Michael Purtue; niece, Donna Shallowhorn; and dear friends, Barbra Jimerson and Annie Hamilton.

Stella was preceded in death by her mother and father, three brothers, and one grandson, Daquane.
