We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Monroe
Candis Saulsberry was born on April 11, 1926; she was raised by her Uncle Daniel and Aunt Esther Thomas-Saulsberry in Monroe Louisiana.
She attended Rose of Sharon Baptist Church early in life. Candis worked has a Housekeeper for a family in Monroe, LA for many years until her retirement.
Candis was passionate about enjoying life; especially when it came to taking care of her family. She loved visiting and enjoying her family in New Orleans, Louisiana, Syracuse, New York and the family in Monroe, Louisiana. Her favorite joy was cooking, and she was an “Excellent” cook. She loved to share life experiences and give advice. She was very blunt about the advice she gave. However, it was from the Heart with Love.
She was proceeded by her Aunt and Uncle Esther (Thomas) and Daniel Saulsberry, Catherine Thomas, Joseph Saulsberry, and Deacon Robert Saulsberry.
She passed away on January 3, 2022, at St. Joseph Continuing Care Nursing Home, Monroe, Louisiana.
She is survived by cousins: Sonya Saulsberry, Hawaii, Jeanna James, Orlando, FL; Esther Gethers, and Alicia Saulsberry, both of Syracuse, New York; Rodney Saulsberry, Robert Saulsberry, and Lavorn (Denise) Saulsberry, all of Monroe, Louisiana. There is also a host of younger cousins, other relatives, and friends.
We will miss Candis dearly, a cousin and friend that motivated us all with her love and wisdom. She was a joy to all that knew and loved her.
