Bruce Lane Perkins was born on November 11, 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Floyd Henderson and Carrie D. Perkins.
He departed this life on March 5, 2022.
He worked for Monroe City School, Lakeshore School Cafeteria before residing in Texas with his children.
Bruce Perkins accepted Christ at an early age. He joined Piney Grove in Monroe, Louisiana, where he served as an usher. He later joined Harvest Time Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Whitley, where he served as usher in Lancaster, Texas until death.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Clydell Hall III, and brother, Floyd Henderson, Jr.
He leaves behind: his five children, three daughters and two sons, Yogunda Brooks of Lancaster, Texas, Bruce T. Brooks of Monroe, Louisiana, LaTonya Brooks (Reginald) of Monroe, Louisiana, Windmera Brooks (Clydell Jr.) of Dallas, Texas, and Marvin Perkins (Rashida) of Desoto, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Jimmie Marbley IV, Kendrescia Brooks, Samuel Bosley, Jr., Marquis Pitts, Corterrious Brooks, Clyde Darrious Hall, Montresz Logan, Aa’Coreya Brooks, Clydell Hall IV, Marvin Perkins II, Clyde’ Travious Hall, Myron Perkins, and Clyde’ Drescia Hall; three great-grands, Aubree Marbley, Samir Boles, and Jimmie Marbley V; five sisters, Brenda Belton, Glenda Perkins (Lenord), Kathy Sampson (Jimmy), and Geniva Gray, all of Monroe, Louisiana, and Joyce Clark (Edward) of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Willie Alexander of Monroe, Louisiana, Frankie Henderson of Portland, Oregon, and Rickey Badger of Las Vegas, Nevada; a special cousin, Edith Briscoe; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special cousins (like brothers), Jeremy Perkins and Jerry Allen.
