Dennis Ray “Black Baby” Moy was born on December 4, 1958, to the late Moses Moy and Mary Lee Bynum Moy. He was the fifteenth child out of seventeen siblings. Baptized at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev C.H Holmes, pastor of Lone Star Baptist church. Dennis was educated in the Union Parish School System where he attended Eastside Elementary School and later graduated from Linville High School in 1971. He attended Grambling State University for two years.
Dennis left Louisiana and moved to Texas where he was trained in Roofing and Construction under the leadership of his oldest brother Isiah Moy. He soon started BMW Roofing of Houston, Texas and later renamed it DL &S Roofing with the incorporation of his siblings. He worked throughout the state of Texas and loved to old things and make it look new. Dennis moved back to Louisiana in 2016 and established a business under the name of D &S Roofing and Repairs. He became united again with Lone Star Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Jimmy Winfield.
Dennis was married to Lillie Woodard February 20. 1989-2005 in Houston, TX. He was known for the love he shown not only to his family but also to his friends, associates, and community. He loved to barbecue and have friends over to share home cooked meals on the weekends. He enjoyed watching classic westerns and comedy movies. When not working, Dennis visited Houston to spend time with his kids and grandchildren. He was a very loving father, and friend and brother. He showered his siblings with gifts and gratitude of love.
Dennis was proceeded in death by his parents: Moses & Mary Bynum Moy, four brothers: Earlest Moy, James Moy, Fred Moy and Cleo Moy and two sisters, Mini Chambers, and Lessie Greenhill.
Dennis leaves behind 10 siblings and 8 children: LaTarra Caraway, Shaye Caraway, Demetrius Menyweather, Kasey Britton, Marcus Woodard, Christopher Law, Denisea Woodard Moy and Natalia Moy 19 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
