Billy Ray was born on May 28, 1947, to the late Hannah Watts Coleman and the late Brown Coleman in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Coleman; sisters, Ruby Moffett and Bonnie Coleman; brother, James Coleman; and son, Billy Smith.
He was born in Monroe, LA, after his family made their way from Newton, MS. He met and married Carol Jean Scott. To this union, four kids were born. Billy worked in construction and learned the

countless businesses, houses of faith, and residence throughout Ouachita Parish and the surrounding parishes.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his five children, two devoted daughters, Victoria Scott Weathersby (Glen) and Shemeka Coleman, both of Killeen, TX, and three loving sons, Billy Ray Coleman, Jr. (Peter), Antonio Coleman (Boo), both of Monroe, LA, and Tre’Maine Stevenson of Texas; brother, John Lee Coleman of Monroe, LA; sister, Jolly Groom of East Paloslton, CA; brotherly cousin, Lester Watts; special niece, Shirley Coleman, both of Monroe, LA; twelve grandkids and eleven great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.
