Betty Harrison Carroll was born on May 19, 1940. She was the 4 child born to the union of the late Charles “C.J.” Harrison and Florence (Collins) Harrison. Betty is proceeded in death by one sister (Lucy Finley), three brothers (John Harrison, Joe Harrison and Charles Harrison), and one son (Willie C. Carroll Jr.).
At an early age, she confessed Christ and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor H.T. James. She was baptized in the Bayou Macon. She served as a member of the Mt. Zion Usher Board where she served as Vice President. Betty attended and is a graduate of ‘Class of 1961’ at Waverly High School of Franklin Parish. She worked at Maxwell Hardware & Lumber and Helena Chemical for over 30 years until she retired at the age of 75.
Betty was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie Carroll, Sr. To this union, seven children were born. She leaves behind to cherish her memories 6 children: Brinda Harrison Jones (Allen) of Monroe, LA, Patricia Killian (Tim) of Delhi, LA, Jennifer Killian (Fred) of Jackson, MS, Pamela Cross (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL, Reggie Carroll of Slidell, LA and Florencine Carroll of Monroe, LA; 1 bonus daughter/niece: Tabitha Hines of Delhi, LA; 16 grandchildren: T’Kenya Killian, Martina Carroll, Fredrick Carroll, Stephanie Killian, Christopher Killian, LaKendra Killian, Koleisha Porter, Britney Killian, Kenneth Killian, Reggie Carroll, Jr., Konstance Porter, Brittany Cross, Diamond Cross, E’Karia Hollis, Talence Hollis and Ni’Koreynn Mack; 2 bonus grandchildren/nieces: Guynesha Hines and Diamond Hines; 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; 4 sisters: Bessie Harrison (Twin) of Delhi, LA, Marcella Williams of Delhi, LA, Bobby Sue Walker of Las Vegas, NV and Michelle Harrison of Jacksonville, FL; a special niece raised as a sister: Erma Lee Beals (Freeman) of Las Vegas, NV; 2 brothers: George Harrison of Delhi, LA and Frank Harrison (Joann) of Delhi, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Betty loved traveling, spending time with her family, cooking on holidays and watching her favorite games shows and sports (basketball and tennis).
