Bertha Lee McGowan-Williams was born on November 28, 1960, to Buster McCoy, Sr. and Bobbie Lucille McGowan in Tallulah, Louisiana. She departed this life on Monday, October 21, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster McCoy, Sr. and Bobbie Lucille McGowan; brother, John McGowan, Sr.; and sister; Evon McCoy Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Charles Williams, Sr.; children, Curtis Carroll, III, Carolyn Haynes, Natalie Devine, and Barbara Haynes-Baker; siblings, Joreatha Blair (Jimmie), Jomarie McGowan, Debra McGowan, James McGowan (Beverly), Jerry McGowan, Shelton McCoy, Ronnie McCoy, Lettie McCoy, Deloris McCoy, and Buster McCoy, Jr.; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
