Ashley’s Journey
On April 27, 1985, Ashley Bettah Coleman-Freeman was born to the late Bertha Ann Coleman and Curtis Lee Pleasant in Monroe, Louisiana. She was the second born of three children.
She accepted Christ at an early age and remained a humble and faithful servant until she was rewarded with her heavenly home.
Ashley received her education from Winnsboro High School in 2003, where she excelled at basketball, track, and field. She also attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She was employed by Sparklight for many years, where she served as one of the youngest supervisors for the company.
At the tender age of nineteen, Ashley welcomed the love of her life, her one and only daughter, Ms. DeAsia Coleman.
In 2013, she met and fell in love with Andre Freeman. They were later joined in holy matrimony in 2017. Through this union, Ashley was gifted a second daughter-in-love, Jada Freeman. Ashley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She loved and took great pleasure in serving her family, friends, and neighbors. Ashley never met a stranger. She was a very generous and kind hearted person who loved family, cooking, occasionally cracking jokes, and she will forever be remembered for her infectious smile. Ashley was a true beacon of light that will truly be missed.
Our beloved Ashley departed this life to live in her eternal home on August 25, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.
Ashley’s memories will forever be cherished by: her loving and devoted husband, Andre Freeman; two daughters, DeAsia and Jada, both of Monroe, LA; fur baby, Petey; father, Curtis Pleasant of Winnsboro, LA; two sisters, Deandrea Coleman and Chietra Coleman, both of Winnsboro, LA; four nephews, Carlin, Cartez, Christian, and Ryan; her adored mother and father-in-law, Mrs. Gwendolyn Freeman and Mr. Stevie Freeman, Sr.; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Ann Coleman, and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
