April (Michelle) Roland, was born on February 9, 1984, in Anchorage, AK, to the proud parents of Sandra Boyd and James E. Roland. April, her Mom and siblings moved to West Monroe, LA., at the age of 1 1/2 years old. Later on, at the age of 15 years old, she moved to Dallas, TX. April finished school at Woodrow High School in the class of 2002. After graduation, she attended EL Centro College and majored in Art. Afterward, she moved to Fort Worth, TX, and was employed by Westmore Senior Living Facility.
April accepted Christ at an early age at Olive Branch Baptist Church where she was baptized. She was active in Sunday School, BTU, youth choir, and Summer Vacation School. April also
participated in the youth choir at St. Paul Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, under the leadership of Reverend L.B. Oliver, Sr., during her youth years. When she moved to Dallas, TX, she became a member of St. Luke Community Methodist Church, where she participated in the Youth Choir and Summer Youth Programs. Later on, April moved to Fort Worth, TX, where she and her children lived.
April was preceded in death by her brother, Isaac Jermaine Roland; aunt, Jacquelyn (Chimone) Russell; uncle, Lujack Russell; grandparents, Verdell and Johnny Goldsmith, Reverend Lietuenant Russell (LT), and Daisy and Henry Clay Roland, Jr.; great-grandparents, Mary and Wise Russell, Arlenz and Jack Russell, and Molly and Henry Clay Roland, Sr.; as well as other aunts and uncles.
