Annie Turner, daughter of Harvey and Lula Collins, was born August 6, 1928 in Mangham, Louisiana. At an early age, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Annie graduated from Mangham High School and attended Grambling College in Grambling, Louisiana.
She served many years as a beautician and a nurse’s assistant.
As a result of her kind and giving spirit, she would often leave her home to care for relatives and friends when needed. Her feisty spirit and giving heart will forever remain in our memories.
She departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Harvey Collins; her sister, Mildred Collins-Matthews; her brother-in-law, Lugene Matthews; aunts, Mary Taylor, Cadelia Washington, and Betty Dumus; and a cousin, Georgia Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her niece, Edna Matthews; great-nephews, Krenish Drew Matthews (Nitsha) and Christopher DeGrate; great-great nephew, Nathan Matthews; close loved ones, Jenette Johnson, Carolyn Williams, LaDerrica Henry, Darlene Tarver, DeAngela Broadway, JaQuarrious Emerson, Gary Broadway, Jr., Diamond Richards, Fabian Johnson, and Nelkita Colquitt; and the Delta Grand Nursing Home family.
