Allen Yorkwas born on September 26, 1953, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of Irma and Floyd York of Oak Ridge, Louisiana. Mr. York confessed Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Greater New Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. York received early education at J. S. Clark Elementary. He attended Carroll High School and later retired as a security guard from E. A. Conway, where he met many friends.
Allen York was a faithful servant at Greater New Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. York wore many hats including being a help to his community, supplying rides to anyone who asked. He was truly a people person; everything he did was from the heart.
Allen York was preceded in death by his mother and father, Irma Sue York of Monroe, LA; three brothers, Floyd Patterson, Jr., Joseph Patterson, and Tommy York; two sisters, Carolyn York Lee
(Sam Lee) and Carolyn Joe Sumler; two daughters, Tamyia Jackson and Faith Jackson.
Allen leaves behind to cherish his memory: his two sons, Allen K. York and Joshua D’Quinn, both of Monroe, LA; two daughters whom he raised and to whom he was a wonderful father figure in
their lives, Zyan Deal and Divian Jackson (Lamond Rose), both of Monroe, LA; five brothers, Melvin York, Danny York, Ricky York (Miranda), Jerald York, and Donald Sumler; three sisters,
Judy York (James Thomas), Linda York, and Sharon Shumler; two biological grandsons and three grandchildren who he raised as his own; special friend, Shawn Deal; he also leaves to cherish: his very special aide, Kayla Hatfield (Heart of Hospice); and his sitters, Iesha Lewis and Jackline Armstead.
