Ahmed Kenyatta Wright, Sr., was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 24, 1973, to Jessie Mae Wright and Allen Payne, Sr.
He was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School. He loved to mentor youth and coach Little League football in the community. Ahmed Wright led a passionate and fulfilling life as a cherished and well-respected member of the Nation of Islam since 1994. He served as the Student Captain of the Fruit of Islam of Muhammad’s Mosque #99. He was a servant to his community in Monroe, speaking to and mentoring individuals on the streets.
Ahmed never left a person without sharing with them the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad as taught by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
He was preceded in death by mother, Jessie Mae Wright; father, Allen Payne, Sr.; grandmother, Mildred Ellington; and grandfathers, Jessie Wright, Sr., and Robert Ellington; and aunt, Catherine Jean Wright.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his two sons, Kendrick Wright and Ahmed Wright; sister, T’Era Wright-Bursey (Ceddrick); special cousins, Shauntel Wright and Deon Wright, Sr.; nieces, Ceddriona Bursey and Dezeree Boyd; nephews, Deon Wright, Jr., and DeMarquez Wright; stepsons, Stewart Kelly, Jr., and Michael Douglas II; and he also leaves a host of other family and friends whom he loved dearly. May Allah be pleased with them all!
