Vernon Judell Bruce, Sr.

Vernon Bruce, Sr., was born on November 1, 1963, to the union of Erma and C.C. Bruce at E.A. Conway Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana.

On the morning of November 8, 2019, the Lord sent his angel down from heaven to carry him home, delivering him from this old troublesome world to meet his maker.

He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories with: three sons and two daughters, Vernon Bruce, Jr., of Delhi, LA, Tamarcus Killingworth of Oakland, CA, Toney Killingworth of Oakland, CA, and Shanterika Fletcher of Monroe, LA; goddaughters, Nakesha Lemon and Sherell Lemon; his mother, Erma Gray of Delhi, LA; his father, C.C. (Christine) Bruce of Delhi, LA; sisters, Arlisa Bruce and Effie Leggins, both of Delhi, LA; godsisters, Sister Peggy Wimberly of Monroe, LA, Sister Johnnie Lawrence, and Sister LaShelle Harris; four brothers, Thaddeus (Carolyn) Bruce of Monroe, LA, Kenneth (Sandra) Bruce of Delhi, LA, Courtney (LaShonda) Gray of Delhi, LA, and Adrian Gray of Delhi, LA; seven aunts; three uncles; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
