Thaddious Trent Lewis, Sr., departed this life and was given his wings to glory September 10, 2019. He was surrounded by his family, at home, during his final moments.
He was one of eight children born to the late Clarence and Mable Lewis on January 9, 1954 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He and his family moved to Tallulah, Louisiana, then finally to Delhi, Louisiana.
As a proud student of Grambling State University, he met the love of his life, the late great Naomi Lewis. They were married on July 3, 1980. He was a devoted and loving husband and father.
He was a dedicated alumnus of Grambling State University and was often seen at football games tailgating with his buddies.
Trent was employed by the Madison Parish Louisiana Transition Center for Women (LTCW) as a substance abuse facilitator, where he touched the lives of many women who had the opportunity to participate in his program. He truly loved his job.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Thaddious Trent Lewis, Jr., of Cross Roads, Texas; daughter, LaTrena Lewis, of Delhi, Louisiana; grandchildren, Thaddious Trent Lewis III, Jordan Lewis, Camryn Lewis, all of Cross Roads; and Sean Richard-Lewis, of Delhi. He also leaves behind three sisters: Harriet Simon, of Lake Charles; Claire Doucet, of Houston, Texas; and Bertha Ned, of Lake Charles; four brothers: Clarence Lewis, of Lake Charles; Michael Lewis, of Houston; Keith Lewis, of Lake Charles; and Kevin Lewis, of Lake Charles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
