Sarah Lee Jackson Stevenson was born on July 6, 1933 to Willie Jackson Sr. and Rebecca Williams. She confessed Christ at an early age. She was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.N. Phillips in Blairstown, Louisiana. Later in life she joined First Kingdom Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Tutt. She remained a faithful Mother and member under the leadership of Rev. Kennie Ramsey.
She was a free spirited, fun-loving person. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family. Her smile would brighten every room. Up until her departure, her memory was impeccable. She could remember every siblings’, children’s, grandchildren’s, and great grandchildren’s name and birthdate. All her grandchildren called her “Big Ma-Ma” except one, Caleb, who called her Grand-Ma. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, fishing, sewing, and taking care of her pets.
On June 5, 2019, our beloved Mother entered into eternal rest at her home. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two children, husbands, and two grandsons.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Louis (Hellen) Lee, Calif., Ora (Lacy) King, Alvin Lee, Christine (C.J.) Oney, Bessie Lee, all of Tallulah, Oliver Larry Lee, Sr. (Kim), Monroe, LA, Byron Lee, Oliver (Antoinette) Lee, Jr, Baton Rouge, LA., a very special Godson, Lonnie (Earline) Curry, and a Goddaughter, LaKeshia Mason, Tallulah.
Siblings: Joshua Jackson, Las Vegas, Nevada, Quinnie Washington, Pride, Louisiana, Willie Jackson, Jr., Marrero, Louisiana, Edward (Bernice) Jackson, California, and Mildred Jackson, Pride, Louisiana.
She leaves a host of Grands, Great-Grands, Great-Great-Grands, and Great-Great- Great-Grands, and a host of family and friends.
