Sammie Lane (Spivey) AmphyMay 18, 1942 ~ July 9, 2019 (age 77)
A Time to be Born... On May 18, 1942, a precious beautiful little girl from the hand of God was born to John D. and Nettie Jo Spivey in Ansley, Louisiana.
A Time to Love... During her life, she united in marriage with the late Dennis Amphy, Jr. To this union, the Lord blessed them with three children, Derrick, Stephanie, and Dwight. She reared one son, Michael and one daughter Zerita, whom she loved and adored.
A Time to be Saved... Sammie confessed Christ at an early age and joined Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend P. Rayfield Brown, III. She was a member of the Mission, senior choir, and Crafter's Club.
A Time to Learn and Work... Sammie attended Boley High School and Grambling State University. She worked at Saint Francis Medical Center, Sally's Beauty Supply, and Pecanland Mall. She was also a licensed beautician.
A Time to Die... On July 9, 2019, Sammie answered the roll-call of that welcome voice saying, "Well done thy good and faithful servant-enter into the joys of the Lord." She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Nettie Jo Spivey; step-mother Mattie Bradford-Spivey; sisters, Nellie Spivey, Pauline Spivey, Lucille Spivey-Stamper; brother James Earl Spivey, niece LaJuana Gayle Welch, step-daughter, Zerita Jones, and daughter-in-law Kathy Johnson-Amphy.
