Mother Normagean McDowell Brown was born to proud parents, the late Deacon Mearion and Mother Leolder McDowell on October 3, 1948 in Franklin Parish. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at New Zion Baptist Church.
She met and married the late Reverend Claude Brown, Sr. on January 9, 1965. Eight sons were born to this union. The two shared an undying love for each other and were married for 38 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Claude Brown, Sr.; her son Kendrick Brown; and her daughter, Gwendolyn Michelle Brown.
Mother Normagean leaves to mourn seven sons, Claude, Jr. (Tameka), Jeffery (LaTonya), Reginald (Shelia), Fredrick (Coretta), Kevin (Shonda), Roderick (Monique), and Cameron, all of Monroe, Louisiana; seven siblings, six sisters, Erma Mae, Roseanor, Marzetta, Christine, Veronica, and Etta, and one brother, Elmore, all of Delhi, Louisiana; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Bessie Larkin and Annie Bell Berry, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
