Mother Brenda Joyce Roe was born December 17, 1960 in Monroe, LA to the late Gloria Dean Roe. She submitted graciously to the Lord’s will and passed away on December 10, 2019.
At an early age, Brenda united with Flower Mount Missionary Baptist Church, and later in life united with the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Rodney McFarland, I. There, she faithfully served in the Mothers’ Ministry.
She attended school within the Monroe City Schools District and was a proud graduate of THE Wossman High School Class of 1979.
She was employed at the Bayou Desiard Country Club, where she enjoyed cooking. Brenda was often known for her famous 7-UP Cakes. She was employed at Tyco Plastics until her health failed.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Gloria Dean Roe; brother, Willie Benard Collins; her sister, Barbara Dean Roe; her nephews, Frederick Roe and Jamarrow Roe; and niece, Barbara Chakita Roe.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Arenta and Tyiska Roe of Monroe, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Jaihai Folks, Rayshun Jones, and Nakasia Jones; her siblings, Charles Roe (Doris), Tony Roe (Teresa), Johnnie Roe (Ferdinand Battles), all of Monroe, Louisiana, and Sharon Boyd of Jackson, Mississippi; her favorite cousin, Joyce Ann Pimpton; a special nephew, Cornelius Roe; a special niece, Seritta Roe; god-mother, Janie Fields-Rogers; god-daughter, Shamecca Ford, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Brenda had six close friends: Wena Davis, Lillie Spillman, Betty McGee, Tanya Mabry, Willie May Boyd, and Debra Boyd.
