Kayla Danyell McFarland was born on January 24, 2008, to the parentship of Kenneth McFarland and LaTasha Mathis-McFarland in Monroe, Louisiana. On July 23, 2019, God’s heavenly angels captured Kayla and introduced her to her mansion not made by hands. Kayla was baptized on January 31, 2012 at the Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church of Baskin, Louisiana under the leadership of the late Rev. Joe Lee Spencer, currently pastored by Rev. Arthur Miller, Jr. Kayla was an active member of the Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department. She often led songs in the youth choir and the melody of her voice was pure and heavenly.
Kayla enjoyed running track, gymnastics, and dance. Being goofy was one of her favorite past-times. She cherished spending times with family, especially with her siblings and cousins. Kayla never met a stranger. You could always count on her genuine smile and her loving tight hugs. Her life signature was leaving many selfies in everyone’s phone. Kayla loved taking pictures of herself and those around her with someone else’s phone. Kayla had a kind, soft spirit that could calm any discomfort. She didn’t say much, but when she was around you knew she was there. Her eyes were always filled with elegance and her smile warmed the hearts of all she encountered.
Kayla is preceded in death by: her grandparents, Jessie May Mathis, Gloria McFarland, and Eugene Mathis; and great-grandparents, Rev. Joe Lee Spencer, Mary Louise Spencer, Rev. E. J. McFarland and Martha McFarland.
