Candace Archie Obituary

Candace Alexis Glosson-Archie was born the sixth child to the union of Eurena and Dan Glosson in Detroit, MI.  Candace learned of Christ and christian principles at an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at New Dawn Baptist Church, under the pastoralship of the late Rev. Robert Earl Williams in Detroit, MI.

She was an inspiration to all that knew her.

As a child growing up she did things that energetic children do: climbed trees, jumped fences, racing with her bicycle with other children in the neighborhood. She was not afraid of competition, whatever she did she excelled at it . Her education begin in Detroit Public Schools. Upon relocating with her parents to Farmerville, LA in 2005, she continued her education at Farmerville High school, where she joined the basketball and power lifting teams.

Candace became a mother while finishing high school. With the help of her parents and family she was able to complete high school and continue her education as an healthcare provider, and was currently pursuing a degree at Grambling State University until the decline of her health in November of 2018.

Candace lived her best life everyday. She experienced numerous opportunities of travelling to various states and cities throughout the United States and Canada with her family and loved ones. Her greatest joys were all the times that she spent with her children, husband and other family members, especially her nieces and nephews; which included shopping and going places she had not been. She enjoyed the simplicity of family, which were at various locations. Her special childhood memories were of her older sister, Kimikeia, waiting at the bus stop for her and her sister, Brianna, after school and most times taking them on adventures throughout the city and then getting home to tell mom and dad of their discoveries and experiences.

When she was to young to get a job, she babysat to earn money, and once she was old enough, employment and achieving better was always her goal. She worked at local establishments and provided care services while rearing her children.

While working at one of her jobs, she met James Archie (he said she was the prettiest girl there), whom she lovingly remained married to until her earthly departure. In this relationship they worked, reared their children, and made time to also continue the daily involvement with her immediately family, friends and some travels. She spoke with one or more of her family members on a daily basis to the point her mother told James you really love our CANDYCANE, you married the whole family, his response was his famous smile.

Candace departed this earthly life Monday, December 02, 2019 at LSU Shreveport Hospital
