Sister Barbara A (Walker) Ballard departed this life and was given her wings on May 3, 2019. She was the oldest of four children. Barbara was born on February 22, 1964 to the late Velma Lee Millage and the late Willie Wilson. Barbara was a beautiful, loving, kind person to everyone she met. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age. She was member of First House of Prayer for many years until she was called to her heavenly home. Barbara was a 1982 graduate of Wossman High School. She attended Northeast Louisiana University(ULM) where she got her phlebotomist license. After receiving her certification she worked as a CNA /phlebotomist at St Joseph Nursing home and St. Francis Hospital.
She is preceded in death by parents, Velma Millage and Willie Wilson and granddaughter, Latitia Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband Robert Ballard of West Monroe, one daughter, Velma Walker; four sons, Adolphus Walker(Denise), Hawaii , Kenneth Walker, Houma, Broderick Walker (Janelle) Port Arthur, Texas, Joshua Walker(Shaterica), West Monroe, Louisiana; one sister, Doris White(Jerome) of Bastrop, three half- sisters, Patricia Ross, Willie B. Ross, Sharon Cleveland; two brothers Kenneth Wilson(Abbie), Billy Ray Walker(Stephanie) and two half-brothers Henry Ross, Willie Lee Cleveland(Erika) of Monroe; 6 grandchildren- Jeniya, Broderick, Jr., Kentaisha, Treyvon, Shaelyn and Markell Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and one special friend, Carlette Boldes.
